Good Friday

Good Friday

Today is the most horrific, yet joyful day on the Christian calendar. It is the day we remember the cruxifixction of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We come solemnly before our King as we remember the physical suffering and death of Jesus and yet that solemness is mixed with joy because as believers, we recognize that if there is no death of the Son of Man then there is no debt being paid for our sins. And for that we remember with solemn hearts, rejoice with celebratory praise, and respond with thanksgiving.

Word Vs Deed

Word Vs Deed

In our culture today we often see evangelism carried out in two primary ways: sharing the gospel with our words, while our actions demonstrate a different belief system or letting our actions ‘speak for themselves’ and thus insufficiently share the complete work of Christ with our mouths. However, the bible holds the tension that both our actions and our words are each an essential and important part of our witness as we seek to share Christ with the world.

American Gospel

American Gospel

The Documentary, American Gospel: Christ Alone, examines how the Prosperity Gospel has distorted the Word of God. Preaching Christianity plus the American Dream, this message has been popular across the United States and has been spread abroad. Taking the desire for a better life and sprinkling in faith, it appeals to many who are earnestly seeking after God, but instead of leading them to God they are led to a false understanding of who God is and who we are in light of Him.

Join Bobby, Nick and Todd Miles, professor of Theology at Western Seminary, as we unpack the topic of New Covenant Sanctification and the importance of it in our lives as believers.

Superheroes Can't Save You

Superheroes Can't Save You

Todd Miles, professor of Theology at Western Seminary, joins us today as we talk about his book “Superheroes Can’t Save You: Epic Examples of Historic Heresies”.

You guessed it, we talk about Superman, Batman, Hulk and even who we think the PNW Superhero Jesus would be.

While superheroes are fun, they can’t save you. The cultural obsession with superheroes does point to our need, our desire, for a perfect Savior. Jesus is not another DC or Marvel Superhero. He is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, the propitiation for our sins, our Lord and Savior. Only He can save humanity.

They also give us some great resources to use as we seek to become a better preacher or simply seek to worship God more fully through the preaching of His word.
